Gatherings

A common misconception for those who have not looked into it is that a church is a building or a location when in effect the word translated as a church can be better translated as the gathering of God’s people.

We rent a building for our bigger gatherings on Sunday which take place at Fagraþing 2a on Sunday mornings at 11am and is followed by a free lunch where we can catch up, plan meetings throughout the week, get to know one another, pray together and enjoy each others company.

All are welcome to join us, you can bring all of your questions, doubt and past to see what we’re like and hopefully connect with some people who’d love to talk with you more about the faith and tell you how Jesus has transformed their lives and their thinking.

Outside of Sundays we have smaller group meetings both formal and informal, some of the meetings take place at the church building, others at various homes and other informal meetings between members who simply want to talk, pray, and hold each other accountable happen all over the place, we do this in light of what the Bible teaches us about how the early church behaved:

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” -Acts 2:42-47

Currently we have Ex Deus (Our University Ministry) events dedicated to get to know and serve students on the campus of Iceland on Tuesdays at 18:30 on the campus of University of Iceland where pizza and games are provided, we have an Icelandic small group Bible study meeting in various places on Wednesday evenings at 19:00, English women meetings on Thursdays at 19:00, Youth Group meetings on Fridays at 19:00, and smaller 2-3 person Discovery Bible Study meetings happening at various times throughout the week.

In the near future we hope to start more smaller gatherings including in Spanish, Russian, Persian and English.
